These kinds of green developments are so exciting. I live in Ankara, Türkiye—a city definitely in need of a little rewilding! There are many parks here, but we could really use more native plants to encourage wildlife back into the city.
It’s also a city filled with apartment blocks stacked with balconies. Imagine if more of those spaces were filled with plants—what a rich food source they could become for insects.
I hope more cities across the globe are inspired to make positive changes and help nature gain a foothold once again.

Thanks for your hope-filled writing!
Thank you for reading, Simon!
I live in a flat, as well, and it's definitely more difficult to provide help for wildlife with such a small balcony - but still possible!
I'm testing something new, with trellises that will (hopefully) get filled with honeysuckle.
I grew a cucumber plant over my balcony rails one year- and the bees loved it! The cucumbers were great too.
Good luck with the honeysuckle!
